Project description : Caserne des pompiers

The Charleroi fire service’s arsenal is an ultra-modern project carried out by the company Thomas & Piron – CIT Blaton. Its atypical shapes but also its equipment make it one of the best equipped stations in Europe. With this bold project, the city of Charleroi shows that it is concerned with equipping itself with high quality infrastructure and we are proud to have been requested for this.

The most classical part of the building which houses the station and the gym on about 2,200m², is composed of steel sheeting with PIR insulation covered by a 1.5mm PVC membrane.

The 1.5mm PVC membrane has also been used for the patios and their ponds.

A 2mm anti-puncture PVC membrane has been used under the athletics track as well as for the green roofs and vegetable garden. In effect, it was necessary to guarantee a better mechanical resistance on these different parts.
